Different parts of the plants are used in this process providing various spicing, nutritional and medicinal substances. Many more plants are used as domestic remedies because of the powers they contain.

The parts used in extracting these beneficial substances include the leaves, stem and leaves. The classification depends on the benefits accrued. Some acts as sources of vitamins while other are anti-oxidants. Extracts from these plants are used in boosting immunity, getting rid of toxins from the body as well as fighting germs. The natural element in these plants makes them a preferred choice for most societies.

Drinks are increasingly being flavored using plant extracts. Experiments are in progress to determine the effect of some plants on brain power. An example is rosemary and peppermint which are said to increase mental ability and sooth pain respectively.
